Hi! Welcome to Lebanon Lutheran School (LLS)! I am Hannah Walters, Principal here at LLS. I was born and raised in South Eastern Wisconsin, but moved to the Lebanon area in the Summer of 2022 when God brought me to LLS. I have served the Lord as an elementary school teacher for 8 years before taking on the role of Principal. I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Concordia University Wisconsin and my MBA in Educational Leadership from Milwaukee School of Engineering. My passion lies in analyzing academic data and curriculum to meet the needs of all students. When I am not at school you will find me hanging out with my husband and beautiful baby girl. As a family we enjoy spending time at the many lakes in this area, trying new restaurants, and cooking delicious food! I enjoy spending any personal free time I have reading and sipping on a cup of coffee.

Pastor Douglas Bergelin, St. Peter’s Lutheran Churchpastorbergelin@stpetersoflebanonwi.org

Pastor Douglas Bergelin grew up in Howard’s Grove, WI. He has traveled to the Holy Land, visited many of the Lutheran Reformation sites, and taken a Footsteps of Paul trip through southern Europe. He is diehard fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. He enjoys traveling, sports, yard work and spending time with family. He graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2003, and Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Mo in 2007. Before coming to St. Peter’s, his first call was to Zion Lutheran Church, Bismarck, ND and St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Napoleon, ND with part of his call serving as chaplain at Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, Bismarck, ND. He loves being a pastor because you get to see God work in the lives of people. Pastor Bergelin has a love for Lutheran education, working with youth and enjoys making member visits; in members homes, at work, farms and going to youth extracurricular events.

Pastor Daniel Repp was born and raised in a working-class family from Michigan. He has a quirky sense of humor, is known to put artichokes on pizza, and doesn’t call pop soda. Once upon a time, he was an at-risk youth teacher, a DJ, a guitarist, and an avid runner. He also has a passion for bringing Christ to people through the importance of prayer, pastoral care, Bible formation for all ages, the value of both Word & Sacrament, and bringing comfort for those caught in the trials of life. He is known to encourage people to “keep the main thing – the main thing” – and watch out for the idol of busyness. Pastor Repp began his call with Immanuel in July of 2021. Married with four children, two dogs, and one cat, and a few other hobbies, he is sometimes found sitting on his front porch sipping coffee, waving at traffic, and reading a good book.

Marshall

My name is Kathryn Marshall (please call me Katie!) and I am the office admin here at Lebanon Lutheran School. This is my first year at the school. And I feel as though I have been welcomed with open arms. I am so excited to get to know this community and to really dive in and get involved. I have a Bachelors degree in Human Services Leadership. Before becoming the office admin at Lebanon Lutheran. I worked for the last six years as the Office Manager at my mother-in-law’s gym flooring business Baseman Bros. Inc. While I held the title of Office Manager, I would really call myself the Office Gopher. Basically, if it needed to be done and there was no one else to do it. I was your girl.

Before that, I worked in a daycare in Palmyra, WI as the infant and toddler 1 teacher ( just me and four babies all day). The drive just became a little too much, with a growing family. So I left to try and find something closer to home. And before that, I was a line staff who worked her way up to a Senior Representative for an Autism Specialist Company for roughly 8 years.  Originally from Oshkosh, WI. I am a transplant to this area. Being the first to move away in my family, so my husband (Ryan) could be closer to the family business he plans to take over. We have definitely built a wonderful life here. We have two boys Harrison, 5 and Charles (Charlie) who is 1. We also have a new 4 legged member of our family who we rescued. Our mutt dog Riley. As most other moms know, having young kids means I don’t really have a lot of downtime. But when I do, I love to read, craft, and go back to my hometown to visit my family and friends. I look forward to meeting you all. Thank you so much for this opportunity.

GRADY

Mrs. Tammy Grady has been in the education field since 2000.  Starting as a teacher assistant, she quickly realized that God called her to teach.  After 10 years of college part-time, she received her dual degree in Elementary/Middle Education and Special Education. During the majority of these years, Mrs. Grady has taught at the middle school level.  When she is not teaching, she enjoys camping, riding her UTV, doing arts and crafts, and spending time with her family and friends.  Mrs. Grady lives in Clyman with her husband and dog, Fozzie.  She is a long-time member of River Valley Alliance Church in Watertown.

My name is Kris Pietz, and I’ve been involved with education all my life. I have an
elementary education degree, taught first grade for three years, and have
substitute taught in almost every subject and grade level before my husband Tom and I started
our family. We have four children whom I have homeschooled for the last twenty years. Our
youngest is a senior in high school this year so it’s a big year at our home! I also coordinate the
children’s ministry at our church, which keeps me busy.
Growing up in Minnesota began my love for the outdoors. Kayaking, hiking, and gardening
are things I enjoy. This year I tried growing many plants from seed, which has been an
experiment with varying levels of success. I am still enjoying those peppers and tomatoes!
Reading is also something I enjoy, and my engineering son got me started on sudoku
puzzles. Family times are usually the highlight of my year! I love when my older kids are
able to visit. My oldest two boys are roommates in Verona, and another son is in
Indiana for his sophomore year of college. This summer, my youngest daughter,
husband Tom and I went on a mission trip to Belize with our church. It was an amazing
experience, and a beautiful country!
My goal is to make our classroom a place where students have fun learning, grow in their
relationship with Christ, and learn the necessary skills for high school and beyond. Please feel
free to email me with any questions or thoughts you have during the year.
I am very excited to join the LLS family and have heard many positive comments in the
community about LLS!

You might catch Mrs. Fortlage out fishing on area inland lakes with her husband of 34 years, Eric. Mrs. Fortlage has two grown daughters – Liz (married to Andy), and Erika. Mrs. Fortlage is becoming a pro-flier as she flies often to Virginia to visit her 3 year old grandson, Soren. She is an avid mystery reader and a frequent flier at the Watertown Public Library.

hummel

I was born and raised in Green Bay,  WI. I attended Northern Michigan University and obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Health and an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Science. I spent eight years working as an x-ray technologist. During that time, I did not feel completely fulfilled and knew God was calling me to do something else. I taught swim lessons in high school and college, and loved every aspect of guiding students to learning new skills. This work influenced me to leave the radiology world and go back to school to pursue a Master’s degree in teaching at Carroll University, obtaining dual licensure in regular and special education. I am currently in my second year teaching Kindergarten at LLS.

My family consists of my husband, our 18 month old son, cavapoo dog; we are expecting a baby girl in March! In my spare time, I like to hang with family or go shopping.

6th year as the 4K teacher. She has her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and

culture and educational programs.  At LLS, she spends her time in the 4K classroom, signing
silly songs, talking about God and His love, teaching letter sounds and numbers and
showing her students how big the world is. She spends her time away from school with her

Addie, Ella and Josey, and her nephew Jameson.   She is looking forward to another great
school year here at LLS!
